Saturday, April 6th, 2019 – Volunteer Appreciation Pancake Breakfast
In conjunction with National Volunteer Week, the Mayor and Town Council of New Market would like to extend a sincere THANK YOU to all volunteers past and present, in the New Market Community who have given their time, possessions and or service to our community. The Mayor and Town Council would like to recognize all volunteers by hosting this FREE Pancake and Sausage Breakfast. All volunteers of the greater New Market Community and their families are welcomed to this event. The breakfast will take place at the New Market Community Center on Saturday, April 6th, 2019 from 8:00 until 10:00 a.m.
Saturday, April 13, 2019 – Community Easter Egg Hunt
Come out for a fun, free community Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 13th, 2019 at 9:00 a.m.! Ages 0 to 10 are invited to hunt eggs and visit with the Easter Bunny! Children bring their own Easter basket to collect eggs filled with candy or prizes. In addition to the hunt for eggs, there will be fun activities and games, and visits with the Easter Bunny. This is a rain or shine event.

(1st Saturday of each month month)
The Open Market showcases different types of vendors from crafts, pottery, home made treats, along with home-based businesses. There are other attractions such as activities for kids, contests to win prizes. This event is held the 1st Saturday of each month from 9:00 a.m-2:00 p.m.
The Open Market is hosted by the New Market Chamber of Commerce and is located in the Suntrust parking lot on S. Congress Street.

The Battle of New Market Reenactment is a unique historical experience taking place on the original 1864 battlefield. It is the site of the oldest annual battle reenactment in the nation. All events are at the Virginia Museum of the Civil War and New Market Battlefield State Historical Park unless otherwise indicated. Learn more at their website or Facebook

Come to the New Market Community Park to enjoy a movie in the park with family and friends! For your viewing comfort, we encourage you to bring chairs and/or blankets. The Town of New Market presents its fifth annual Summer Music Series: Cross Roads Fest. This event will be held at Rebel Park on selected dates from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Admission is FREE! Food and drink available for purchase. Wednesday, July 3, 2019-Independence Day Celebration
The New Market Fireworks Committee brings a fun community celebration to the New Market Community Park to celebrate Independence Day on Wednesday, July 3, 2019. The celebration activities start at 5:00 p.m. with a fireworks display showing around 9:20 p.m. Activities to include, but not limited to are: live music, train ride, dunk tank, activities for all ages, and food vendors. Mark your calendars and come visit with your family, friends and neighbors. Bring chairs or blankets to enjoy the evening. (NO PETS ALLOWED)

Saturday, July 13th, 2019- Jammin’ Foods Fest
New Market’s first food truck fest is coming to the New Market Community Park on Saturday, July 13th, 2019 from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. There will be a selection of food trucks, live music by Who Shot John (12p-2p) and Standing Room Only (3:30p-6:00p), vendors, pottery demonstration, and Golfzilla for the kids to have fun with. Admission is FREE. There is parking at the New Market Fire Department. Bring chair/blankets for comfort. Pets allowed on leashes only and not in the food truck area.
Tuesday, August 6, 2019- National Night Out
The New Market Police Department is hosting its annual National Night Out on Tuesday, August 6, 2019 beginning at 6:00 p.m. in the New Market Community Park. Join us for an evening of family fun and activities with the New Market Police Department.
Shop till you drop at over 40 miles of yard sales and business sales along The Old Valley Pike. Yard Crawl begins at 7:00 a.m. This is a rain or shine event.
Sunday, September 1, 2019- VMI Rat Parade
Every year during the first week of September the freshmen class, or Rats, from the Virginia Military Institute (VMI) visit the New Market Battlefield State Historical Park for a day long orientation to the 1864 battle in which the VMI Cadet Corps so prominently figured.

Saturday,September 28, 2019– New Market Fire & Rescue Department Fall Fling
Join the New Market Fire and Rescue for the 14th year of sponsoring the Fall Fling. The event will be held at the New Market Fire & Rescue located on 9771 Congress St. New Market, VA. There will be approximately $100,000.00 in prizes raffled off every 5 minutes starting from 11:00 a.m. (Over 60 prizes!) At 5:00 p.m. a name will be drawn for the Grand Prize. From 10:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m. people can enjoy Burgers, Hot Dogs and other delicious sides and beverages. Ticket prices to be released soon!

The New Market Merchants Committee and the Town will be hosting a Trick or Treat on Congress Street event on Halloween from 5:00pm-7:00pm. Visit various downtown businesses who have left their light on for trick or treaters and you will leave with a special treat! Welcoming all dressed up trick or treaters! While collecting candy, be sure to browse our stores for upcoming holiday gifts. Come on out and have a spooky safe time in the New Market downtown businesses!

Join us for the hunt of candy canes and other goodies that are hidden in the park! Children ages 1 to 12 are invited to participate in a Flashlight Candy Cane hunt in the New Market Community Park on Saturday, December 14th starting at 5:30 p.m. There will be designated areas per age group, and special prizes to be found.
Come bundled up to brave the cold, and come prepared with a flashlight to see in the dark! There will be music, and other fun activities to participate in as well.
